Employers
Did you know your employee’s financial stress is affecting your bottom line?
This “Great Recession” has proven stressful for almost everyone, including your employees. It is estimated that thirty million American workers – or one-in-four employees – are dealing with significant financial difficulties.
To help businesses address this issue, Consumer Credit Management Services (CCMS), a local, non-profit HUD-approved financial counseling agency, has developed a program for employers to help their employees and improve their company’s bottom line. This Employee Financial Management Program is FREE to both employers and their employees.
USA Today recently listed employee financial stress as #1 on their “stressor list.” Most employers already know that financially-troubled employees are absent more than others. What you may not know is that, according to a Virginia Tech study, the typical “financially stressed”
employee uses up to 27 work hours a month to do their personal banking, pay bills, handle calls from creditors and collectors, and calculate financial scenarios. This even has a name … “Presenteeism.”
Without question, distractions resulting from employee financial stress leads to increased absenteeism, workplace accidents, retention problems, increased health care costs, and much more – all affecting the company’s bottom line. (See “Did You Know?”)
CCMS has been in Delray Beach for over 20 years assisting consumers with their housing and debt issues. Remember, this CCMS Employee Financial Management Program is FREE to both employers and employees. The intent is for employers to encourage their employees to get free financial counseling assistance.
